About Me

Hi my name is Scott. I’m a thirty something year old guy who like many other people my age have always had an on off relationship with food and my body.

Any diet trend you can name, I’ve probably tried it. Carnivore, intermittent fasting, 5:10… but I never found a weight loss solution that I could stick to. Often, after a couple of hungry miserable months, I’d be back to square one and would have put back on the same 5-10 kilos, feeling less energised and more sluggish than when I started. Add to that a tendency towards binge drinking, and at the start of this year I found myself at the heaviest and most unhealthy I’d ever been.

Something needed to change. Not only was I getting ever closer to the dreaded 40, but my partner and I had just found out that she was pregnant with our first child. Determined to be the happiest, healthiest version of myself and the best Dad that I could be, I decided that enough was enough.

If you’d have googled sustainable weight loss five years ago, chances are that GLP1s wouldn’t have even been on the first page. Now Ozempic, Mounjaro and the like are among the most searched terms on any search engine, and it seems everyone has an opinion. So, that’s where I ended up… head first down the never ending rabbit hole of misinformation, scare mongering and somewhere amongst it all….. actual valuable scientific evidence.

Like many others at the start of this journey, perhaps you included, I was sceptical. Having a phobia of needles didn’t help, and some of the claims appeared far too good to be true. But, after many weeks of research, and back and forth decision making, I took the plunge and filled out an online eligibility questionnaire. I think part of me was hopeful that perhaps my application wouldn’t be accepted… but before I knew it, the pack was in the post, and I was standing in the kitchen trying not to shit myself as I took my first dose.

One thing that has been really important to me over the past four months has been accountability. I wanted to document my progress and keep track of everything to ensure that I was going about things in the right way. So that’s where my YouTube channel came into play. Initially it was meant to be a video journal really just for myself, filming my thoughts and feelings as well as any physical changes, but along the way I found an amazing community of like minded people and now at nearly 800 subscribers, I don’t know if I would be where I am today without the support and love that I’ve found on my little corner of the internet.

Now, sitting at my goal weight, very nearly a Father, with a new found passion for all things health and wellness (7 degree ice baths included), I want to give something back and share what I've learnt with you.…I hope you find it useful.
